Rural Ambassador Award

As the Royal Adelaide Show is almost upon us, we thought we would take the opportunity to highlight our Rural Ambassador Program and Young Rural Ambassador Program.

If you follow the Royal on socials, you will see broad coverage of the final stages of the Rural Ambassadors Program before the South Australian Winner is announced later next week.

The program highlights talent, creativity and ingenuity of participants and, by so doing, encourages entrants to be role models and more involved in their local communities. The program also enables entrants to gain greater proficiency and develop their stature and reputation in their chosen field.

The program aims to:

• Highlight the importance of youth in rural South Australia, particularly the agricultural show movement.

• Identify and encourage enthusiastic, skilful, industrious, and unselfish young people.

• Give young people a forum to express their views through education and experience and to develop closer links with the primary industries in South Australia.

Each year, the Angaston Show is able to select a Rural Ambassador and a Young Rural Ambassador.

They each go through a selection process at our Central Districts Shows Association (Mannum, Mount Barker, Mount Pleasant and Tanunda Show Associations).

They both then go on to represent the Central Districts Shows Association at the state level.

To learn a little more about the two programs head on over to the South Australian Country Shows website: Rural Ambassador Award – South Australian Country Shows (
