The Angaston Show: A Celebration of Country Life in the Barossa

The Angaston Show is a much-loved country Show in the heart of the Barossa Valley, bringing together agriculture, horticulture, floriculture, animals, horses, food, creativity, education, entertainment and community.

In 2027, the Angaston Agricultural, Horticultural & Floricultural Society will celebrate the 130th Angaston Show, an important milestone for an event that continues to evolve while retaining the traditions of a country Show.

At the heart of the Angaston Show are the people who participate. Farmers, growers, bakers, makers, creators, photographers, artists, gardeners, horse riders, families and children all have the opportunity to enter, compete, share their skills and be part of the Show.

Agriculture at the heart

Agriculture remains an important part of the Angaston Show. Visitors can experience livestock, horses, produce, horticulture and floriculture, while discovering the skills and knowledge behind farming and food production.

The Show also provides opportunities for visitors, particularly children, to learn about agriculture through hands-on activities. Recent interactive stations have included bee and pollination education, grain milling and oat rolling, helping visitors understand the journey from farm to food.

A Show for everyone

The Angaston Show continues to develop new ways for more people to participate and enjoy the event.

Accessibility and inclusion have become an important part of the Show, with an Access & Inclusion area, accessibility information, a Social Story, video walkthroughs and a Sensory Quiet Zone.

The Show has also introduced Special Needs and Disability competition classes, providing additional opportunities for people to participate in the traditional Show experience.

A community that continues to grow

The Show has experienced significant growth in recent years.

In 2021, 219 exhibitors entered 1,039 exhibits. By 2026, this had grown to 636 exhibitors entering 2,884 exhibits across the Show’s many sections.

In 2026, the Show also welcomed 98 trade sites, connecting visitors with local and regional businesses.

Behind the event is a dedicated volunteer community who contribute their time, skills and knowledge to make the Show happen.

Something to discover

Whether you come to watch the horses, explore the agricultural displays, admire the flowers, enter a competition, discover local businesses, bring the children or simply enjoy a day together, the Angaston Show offers many different ways to experience a country Show.

It is a place where traditional Show competitions sit alongside new ideas, where children can learn through doing, and where generations of the community can come together.

In 2027, as the Angaston Show celebrates its 130th Show, we look forward to continuing a tradition built by generations of exhibitors, volunteers, families, farmers, businesses and community members.
