Rural Ambassador & Young Rural Ambassador Awards

Rural Ambassador & Young Rural Ambassador Awards

Discover the essence of rural advocacy by diving into the heart of the Angaston Show’s Rural Ambassador and Young Rural Ambassador Competitions! The contests unfold at the local show, state, and national levels, offering participants the chance to connect with kindred spirits from across the state, nation, and Commonwealth.

As a successful entrant, you’ll unlock exclusive opportunities to engage with influential figures in agriculture and education, both at the state and federal levels. This is your moment to voice your perspective, pose challenging questions, and establish vital connections. No need for a fancy university degree—just a passion for championing rural Australia, a fundamental understanding of agriculture and rural life, and the willingness to take a leap.

Prepare for some robust competition, forge friendships that will last a lifetime, and revel in an unforgettable experience. If you’re ready to embrace the challenge and have a great time doing it, reach out to us. We would love to you to join the ranks of young rural ambassadors and rural ambassadors and make a meaningful impact!

The Program Aims To:

  • Highlight the importance of youth in rural South Australia, particularly the agricultural show movement.
  • Identify and encourage enthusiastic, skilful, industrious, and unselfish young people.
  • Give young people a forum to express their views through education and experience and to develop closer links with the primary industries in South Australia.

Each year, the Angaston Show is able to select a Rural Ambassador and a Young Rural Ambassador.

They each go through a selection process at our Central Districts Shows Association (Mannum, Mount Barker, Mount Pleasant and Tanunda Show Associations).

They both then go on to represent the Central Districts Shows Association at the state level.
