In 2027, the Angaston Show will celebrate its 130th Show, marking a significant milestone for the Angaston Agricultural, Horticultural & Floricultural Society and the wider Barossa Valley community.
For generations, the Angaston Show has provided a place for people to come together, share their skills, showcase agriculture and creativity, enjoy country traditions and connect with their community.
While the Show has changed over the years, many of the things that make a country Show special remain at its heart.
Agriculture, horticulture and floriculture continue to play an important role, alongside livestock, horses, cooking, craft, photography, art, gardening and a wide range of Show competitions.
The historic Angas Show Hall remains an important part of the Show’s identity and provides a connection to the generations of exhibitors and volunteers who have come before.
Today, the Angaston Show is continuing to evolve. Traditional Show competitions now sit alongside interactive agricultural education, children’s activities, accessibility initiatives, new competition opportunities and experiences designed to encourage more people to participate.
The Show has also embraced technology, with online exhibitor entries making it easier for people to enter sections and access Show information.
The growth in participation in recent years demonstrates the continuing interest in the Show. In 2021, 219 exhibitors entered 1,039 exhibits. By 2026, this had grown to 636 exhibitors entering 2,884 exhibits.
As the Show reaches its 130th Show in 2027, the milestone is an opportunity to recognise the generations of people who have helped build the event while looking towards its future.
The Angaston Show remains a place where people can participate, compete, learn, create and connect., continuing a country tradition while making room for new ideas and new generations.
